MISSION
The mission of the Asociacion Mayab is to create the conditions that allow for the optimal development of the Yucatec Maya community in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Asociacion Mayab is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco California that provides Maya immigrant families in the Bay Area with Social services and emergency support promotes Yucatec Maya cultural values and serves as a bridge for communication between our community.
Our Story
Asociacion Mayab was founded in 2004 by a group of Maya immigrants concerned about the gradual decline of the language and values of their rich ancient culture among the youngest members of their community and by the lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate services for ,,
the estimated 30,000 Maya immigrants living in the Bay Area.
This corporation is organized and operated exclusively as a nonprofit organization and completely independent from other organizations within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3). lnternal Revenue Code. No substantial part of activities of this corporation shall consist of carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation and the corporation shall not participe or intervene in any political campaign and behalf of any candidate for public office.

We strive to connect the dots for the Mayan community in Housing, Health, food, Job placement and advanced technology.ublic office. 3.-SERVICES:During the covid 19 Asociacion Mayab and his organization worked hard spreading care against covid.Bringing food and invitation to many homes to collect food .we continue spreading care against any pandemic disease.

CLASSES
We provide activities for physical, mental healing and recreational activities and events that help to get together.
Zumba ,jarana class our traditional Vaqueria Regional, traditional celebration that when dancing makes them remember their roots. We celebrate important holidays like, Halloween Dia de las muertos, Day of the Migrant ,Posada ,Rosca de
Reyes, Summer, Spring,Fall league .
We prepare interpreters to interpret ,translate from Spanish to Maya, Man ,and other Mayan languages so we can offer our services to legal offices ,institutions ,schools. Maya class will be transmitted to teach from a professional teacher from the linguistic department
